Self-Test and Status
Run Test and the device card shows Ready when every check passes. The test never sends a message, and tests also run daily and after Google Messages updates.

Optional Switch to SMS
A device setting, off by default, lets the same phone try SMS when the number does not support RCS or the phone is not ready. Failed RCS is refunded and SMS is charged.

RCS works with verification codes, and in the Network Directory you can review partner lines, supported destinations and credits per text for RCS and SMS separately.
How It Works
Get the App Bundle
Your site administrator uploads the branded app bundle, which includes the gateway and the RCS Companion, under Android settings.
Set Up the Phone
Turn on RCS for the phone, install the RCS Companion from the same bundle, work through its checklist and run Test until it shows Ready.
Send With RCS
Choose RCS and a ready phone when sending. Sent, Delivered and Read show what the phone could confirm.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is RCS for Zender?
RCS is a messaging extra for Zender that sends RCS messages through Google Messages on your own Android phone, using the Zender SMS gateway and an RCS Companion app.
Can I use RCS without SMS?
No. RCS needs the SMS gateway, so there are no RCS-only plans. RCS must be on a plan that also includes SMS and Android devices.
Does RCS guarantee delivery?
No. Delivery is not guaranteed. Sent, Delivered and Read show only what the phone could confirm, and Sent does not guarantee delivery. If the outcome is unknown, the message is marked failed, refunded and never resent.
Can I receive pictures and files with RCS on?
No. With RCS on, the phone receives text only. Pictures and files sent to the phone cannot be received, and an incoming image without text does not appear.
Does choosing a phone switch its RCS SIM?
No. RCS uses the phone's active RCS line, and choosing a device does not switch its RCS SIM.

Do I need Zender to use it?
