Passages are stored with embeddings in your own database next to a MySQL FULLTEXT index. There is no separate search server to install, host or keep running alongside Zender.
The AI step in Flows gets a Knowledge Base choice. Automated replies can then answer from your documents instead of guessing, based on the passages found for each question.
Messenger Settings gains a Knowledge Base section for Suggest Reply. Suggested answers draw on your indexed content, searched using the latest message from the customer.
Test Search shows which passages a question finds before you rely on it. You can check coverage, spot gaps in your documents and fix them without waiting for a real customer to ask.
Each plan sets a Knowledge Size in MB and a monthly query limit, with warnings at 80% and 100% of the size cap. You decide how much indexing each workspace tier receives.

In Admin > Plans, turn on Knowledge Base for eligible plans and set Knowledge Size and Knowledge Queries per month. Workspaces then see it under Automation in the sidebar.
